Value In Christ Alone

How many days do we feel drained, worthless, and insignificant? Many days I struggle with the thought of how insignificant I am. I feel purposeless and feel as though I don't measure up to what the world may expect me to be. I, for way to many years, was putting my identity into the things of this world.

What I failed to realize many times over, is who I am. And I am in Christ. Now, we have all heard that we are a creation of God, and that we are made in his image. But I don't think we really take that to heart, I know I didn't. God, The Lord of this universe created the heavens and the Earth, the oceans, and the stars; and He created it perfectly. So perfectly that if the sun was just a few more feet away from the Earth, we would all freeze, and life would not be possible. His creation IS flawless.  And all of His creation is beautiful, just look around you! Its amazing. If he can create all that, I think He is highly capable of creating you and I, perfectly. God made you just the way He intended you to be, flaws and all. And He loves you! Now let me say it again, you are created in Gods perfect image.

Psalms 139:14
"I will praise you, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

We need to focus on our identity in Christ and not in what the world tries to tell us who we are. The World tries to tell us that we need to find our value in the way that we look, in the things that we have, and in our social status. But God tells us otherwise, "What does it benefit a person to gain the whole world and lose his soul?"Mark 8:36. You could gain all the money in the world, have the highest social status, be known by nations, and you could be the most beautiful person in the world. But let me tell you, that is not what God looks at. And you and I both know that we are not here to please man; but we were created for the sole purpose of loving, pleasing, and serving God.

1 Peter 3-4 says, "Let your adornment not be the external kind, braiding hair and putting on gold jewelry or putting on fine clothing, but the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit."

A gentle and quiet spirit is of more value then your appearance, your things, or your popularity. You are worth far much more then the clothes on your back, or the jewels around your neck. And you do not find your value, or self worth in these things. We find our value through our identity in Christ. We find our value in the fact that the God of this universe, loved us enough to send His son to die for us. We find our value in that though we are sinners, and imperfect, God loves us just the same.

Stop living for mans approval, and start living for Gods.

"Charm is deceit and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears The Lord shall be praised", Proverbs 31:30.
